As indicated in Section 1.2 (Summary Report page 2) The Role of the Organic Working Party, '.the highly active lobbying of the Manx Organic Network.' played a major part in the setting up of the OWP. Additionally, the active participation of a number of MON members contributed in large part to this Report. The former MON Secretary Viv Davies has been Chair of the OWP from the beginning and continues in that role. Other MON members contributed significantly to the content of the Interim Report. Janet Bridle (MON Chair) and Ian Davies (former Committee member) are permanent members of the OWP and there have been important contributions from Sharon Jamieson, Andrew Moore, Pheric Curphey and particularly Alison Jones.
After feedback from the stakeholders and all interested parties, the OWP proceeded to establish an Organic Action Plan which was issued on the 25th July 2008. You can read a copy of this report by clicking on the following link Organic Action Plan. You may also read the Press Release accompanying it by clicking on the following link Press Release. This Plan details the areas needed to achieve the vision. The implementation of the Plan will be phased to take account of the key priorities and the different stages of development of each production sector. The existing members of the OWP continue to oversee the Plan’s implementation including Viv Davies who remains as Chair; Janet Bridle (MON Chair) and Alison Jones (MON Secretary) the permanent MON representatives; and Ian Davies representing the Agricultural Marketing Society.
